About me...

I am probably one of the few Arizona natives still around. I was born in Glendale, Arizona, but spent most of my childhood in the small mining community of Bagdad, Arizona. After graduating high school, I packed my bags and headed for Tempe to attend ASU in the Fall of 99 (that sounds like such a like such a long time ago). Little did I know I would spend the best and worst (memorable nonetheless) 6 years of my life pursuing a B.S.E Civil Engineering. I (FINALLY) graduated in May 2005 and immediately started my career with the US DOT Federal Highway Administration. I am now pursuing an MPA to develop the skills and background to be an effective and efficient leader, and I also hope to make myself more marketable within the agency. I am on schedule to graduate this May, but before then comes the biggest test of my, and my wife's, lives. We are expecting our first child on April 2 and are now slowly realizing the daunting task ahead of us, but we both couldn't be more excited!

  1. Wow! Congratulations on the upcoming new addition to your family! It will be an exciting and busy time, but it sounds like you're really on the right track. I hope to graduate at the end of the summer, just before my husband goes back to school this Fall. Anyway - I hope you have a great last semester, and I look forward to learning lots more during this class!

  4. Congrats on your upcoming addition to your family! That's going to be tough to focus on finals, but at least you will only have one month to go! I have a close friend who graduated in 2007 from the Civil Engineering program at ASU. He started in 2000, but took his time! Maybe you know him? His name is Nye McCarty. Anyways...good luck with everything this semester!

  5. M.E. Sanchez,

I am also a Arizona native. I was born and raised in Mesa and am still currently living there. The valley is a great place and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Good luck with your first born child.
